Sticking to Your Wellness Routine This Christmas

It's that time of year—jingle bells, festive cheer, and a whole load of plans! It can be very easy to forget about your health and wellbeing during December so we’re here to help. Let’s be honest, as mums, when times get busy, the first thing we tend to drop is taking care of ourselves.

So, how can we balance enjoying the celebrations while still staying true to our wellness goals?

  1. Plan and Prioritise: Alright, so planning might not sound like the most festive thing, but trust me, it helps! Try jotting down some time for moving that body, whether it's a brisk walk or a morning yoga class; get it in the diary. Planning meals doesn't have to be a drag either. Think of it as an opportunity to experiment with some seasonal veggies and create delicious, nourishing meals that’ll make everyone smile. And don't forget to sneak in moments for yourself to recharge during the festive hustle and bustle.

  2. Stay Active Together: How about making family time fun and healthy? Let's turn those moments into memories! Take a stroll around the neighbourhood to soak in the twinkling lights or challenge the gang to a snowball fight if we're lucky enough to have a white Christmas. Indoor fun counts too! Crank up the music and have a dance party or set up an obstacle course in the living room. Trust me, the giggles and shared sweat will be worth it.

  3. Embrace Self-Care: Mums, remember: you deserve some TLC too! Take breaks, deep breaths, and steal moments to pamper yourself. Sneak in a cozy moment with a book or your favourite mug of hot chocolate. If a soothing bath is your thing, go for it! Self-care isn’t just about the body; it's about recharging your soul too.

  4. Flexible Mindset: So, things might not always go as planned, and that's absolutely fine. Life happens! If the grand workout plan gets hijacked by unexpected guests or if the menu strays a bit from 'healthy,' it's not the end of the world. Be kind to yourself and remember, the most important part is to enjoy yourself and make memories.
